Nobu Hara

Nobu Hara is Goodwill’s Senior Vice President of Human Capital where he is responsible for human resource management of over 2,400 employees and corporate compliance. He serves on the Executive Committee of the organization that has experienced 100% growth over the past 5 years in revenue and over 300% in people served and job placements.

With more than 30 years of human resource management experience in various industries, Hara has worked directly with CEOs and Boards to deliver significant improvements in human resources management for growing companies. Through creative and innovative approaches, he has garnered national and local best practice awards including “Best Employer to Work For” and “Best Employer for Employee Financial Security.”

Hara has also served as a board member for various nonprofit organizations such as the United Way and Physician Hospital Community Organization where he held tenure as both vice chair and chair. He also served as the President of Senior Human Resource Executive Council and the Arizona State Human Resource Management State Council. Additionally, Hara was a founding board member of the Arizona Total Rewards Association. In 2011 Hara testified before the Congressional House Sub-Committee for Worker Protection regarding the need to revise the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Hara received his BA and MBA degrees from the University of California, Long Beach and holds a Senior Professional Human Resources designation.
